Witches on the Water- Paddling for Pets

On Sat. Sept 21st, come join us for a spooktacular event at KAYAK STARVED ROCK CAMPGROUND for the 2nd annual Witches on the Water. Proceeds will be distributed to local animal shelter/rescues. Grab your broomsticks (or paddles) and get ready to paddle for a purrrrrect cause. Dress up as your favorite witch and enjoy a day on the water while supporting our furry friends. . Located near Starved Rock State Park on the beautiful Illinois River near Utica, il. this scenic paddle takes you through the lilypad fields & next to the towering sandstone bluffs.

*Dress in your best witchy attire & life jacket of course & have fun decorating your boat! There will be costume, boat & witches cackle contests!!
**Let’s fill up the cauldron! Bring a pet supply donation ( pet food or treats not expired, torn or opened, toys, litter are good options) & be entered into a raffle drawing for a fantastic prize!
***Ticket options include: (A)Bring your own kayak, canoe, paddle board & your own life jackets (required) $30 or (B) rent a single or tandem kayak at the launch site $60 or $70
****The day’s agenda:
10:00 am-11:30 am Check-in at the desk by the beach launch area. AND grab your GOODY BAGS!! valued at over $25! donated by Kristine’s Shower in honor of her late Mother in law RaeJeanne.
11:45 am Group pictures!
12:00 pm launch for a scenic guided paddle. Go with the group or just paddle around the lilypads if you’d like a shorter paddle. If you’d like to just stay back on the beach, thats fine too, its a beautiful view!
2:00 pm-5:00 pm food (TACO’S!)& drinks provided, music, photobooth, mingling, dancing, CONTESTS!(best costume,best boats, best witches cackle) scavenger hunt, & more giveaways! Stay as long or little as you’d like, we appreciate you attending!
5:00 pm anyone wishing to keep the party going can stay! If you are interested in camping please email or call 815-878-3348 to get the details! Tent camping is free for our event attendees. Pop-up, van campers or tear drop campers please reach out for more info on reservations / rates.
